Learn to Play Spring 2019 (Flyer)
During this program, skate rentals are not available. Skaters must be age 18 or older or have adult supervision. Check-in and pay at the Recreation Center. Sticks/pucks are not allowed during open skating.
During this program, skate rentals are available. Disclaimer: Ice Maintenance occurs as needed and up to every hour, on the hour for approximately 15 minutes. Sticks/pucks are not allowed during public skating.
This program is currently offered on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Sunday sessions are currently divided into two ability levels- Recreational and Competitive. Please attend during the session slated for your ability. If you are unsure of your ability level, check in with the Ice Rink Manager or Staff at the start of drop-in hockey. Wednesday sessions are combined for all ability levels.
A full set of equipment and a signed waiver for the 2018-2019 ice season are required. If under age 18, a parent/guardian must sign the participation waiver. This program requires a separate fee and is not included in any ice or season pass. 10-punch passes are available, specific to drop-in hockey. Only goalies may play for free.

Open Stick & Puck
During this program, bring your own stick and puck. Helmets are the only piece of protective equipment required, but a full set of equipment is always recommended. Need to borrow a helmet? Ice Skating Lessons
Learn to skate! This one-day class includes 45 minutes skating instruction as well as skate rental. Learn how to lace your skates properly from instructors/staff before taking the ice. Each class will have exclusive access to the ice rink; meaning- there is no public skating during this time. Ages 5 and up are welcome. Cost is $7/class/person. Participation is first come, first serve; pre-registration is available in-person at the Ice Rink or Rec Center, as well as online- AlamosaRec.org (click here to register). The Beginner Class is designed for Level 1-4 Skaters.
LEVEL 1: First time on ice skates
LEVEL 2: Minimal time on ice skates
LEVEL 3: Mid to average time on ice skates (some skating experience)
LEVEL 4: Average or more time on skates (have skated; need to become comfortable or reacquainted)
All dates and times are subject to change as need. A signed participant waiver is required.
